One of the rockiest Oscar seasons in recent memory reached a crucial point Tuesday morning with the announcement of the nominations for the 91st annual Academy Awards. Yes, the show is still without a host. And even with a number of viral controversies and the steady accumulation of cinephile grievances, some pretty awful films ended up with major nominations. In spite of how I may feel about Green Book's prime position in the Best Picture race, the time to be upset about nominations is over: now it's time for a push to the finish line. After getting hit with an illness and some burnout, I don't have much to say about this year's awards as of yet. But let's take a look at the nominees, shall we?
