Watch: Wild trailer for Chance the Rapper's 'Slice' previews a clash between werewolves and pizza delivery guys

The first full teaser trailer for Slice was released in October 2017. Before that, A24 premiered a quick glance at the film, hoping to entice fans with news of Chance the Rapper's film debut. Cut to August 2018, and the Austin Vesely-directed project still doesn't have a release date. Weird, right? Slice has been lingering on the indie studio's calendar for a long time now, labeled only as a TBD 2018 release. In that time, the mysterious horror movie has gained a bit of attention from a select number of fans, including freelance writer Matt Donato, who has frequently tweeted at A24 with questions about the movie (often to no avail). Earlier this morning, the studio finally debuted another trailer for the film, which hilariously remains without a concrete release date. Anyways, watch the teaser below!

At just over a minute in length, this is still a rather brief glimpse at what appears to be a cheesy, totally gonzo horror flick. Part of me fears that A24 is burying the film, preparing for an unceremonious fall release that will ensure barely anyone ever sees it. That being said, Slice inherently has a certain level of general audience appeal, thanks to the presence of Chance the Rapper, Deadpool 2's Zazie Beetz, and Stranger Things star Joe Keery. This trailer seems destined for viral status, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it popping up on my timeline from non-Film Twitter friends in the coming days.

But honestly, I'm still not quite sure what to make of it. Vesely's film could be a nice bit of inspired spooky silliness, or it could be nothing more than a giant WTF. Either way, I'll admit that I'm excited to find out how it all turns out. While the film is not playing at the Toronto International Film Festival, look for Slice to possibly be announced as part of Fantastic Fest's full upcoming lineup.

The film will hit theaters in the next few months.
