Return to the Hundred Acre Wood in sweet trailer for Disney's 'Christopher Robin'

Disney has more big movies than they know what to do with in 2018, and they've already dominated the box office during the first five months of the year, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Solo: A Star Wars Story have raked in a good deal of cash for the Mouse House. And just wait until you see their upcoming schedule- Incredibles 2, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and the long-awaited Mary Poppins Returns are just some of their major titles for the rest of the year. For a studio that regularly churns out blockbuster product, something like Marc Forster's Christopher Robin is a comparatively smaller offering. Nonetheless, starring Ewan McGregor and Hayley Atwell with Jim Cummings as the voice of Pooh (and Tigger too!), this return to the Hundred Acre Wood has generated a good deal of anticipation. Earlier this week, Disney released the full trailer for the film- watch it below!

"People say nothing is impossible but I do nothing everyday!"

The first teaser for Christopher Robin ended with the cute reveal of Pooh, showcasing the film's blend of live-action and animated characters. The characters are clearly designed to look like stuffed animals, and I must admit that I was a little skeptical of that concept at first. But this full look is so joyful and light-hearted that I'm completely convinced- this looks like such a wonderful time at the movies. I love these characters so much, and it seems like director Marc Forster and screenwriters Alex Ross Perry and Allison Schroeder are keeping very close to the spirit of this iconic series. The small stakes are a wise choice, and I adore the little interactions between McGregor and the inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood on display in this trailer. The vibe is so warm and and inviting, almost to the point that it seems designed to touch your emotions in a profound way. But with the nostalgia that many have for these characters and the gentleness of their depiction here, how could you not be touched by this story? I look forward to taking this journey and basking in some old-fashioned kindness for a couple hours.

Christopher Robin opens in theaters on August 3.
