Quentin Tarantino to begin filming 'The Hateful Eight' in early 2015

Quentin Tarantino has had quite an interesting time since his last film, Django Unchained, which tore up the box office and the awards circuit after it was released on Christmas Day 2012. In 2013, Tarantino revealed that he had written a new screenplay entitled The Hateful Eight and was set to eventually start production on that film with Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Bruce Dern, Tim Roth, Walton Goggins, Michael Madsen, Amber Tamblyn and Zoe Bell set to star. Unfortunately, the script for the film was leaked and Tarantino was not happy about that. He ended up suing Gawker (who had posted the link for his script) in January and scrapped all of his plans for the film, stating that he might eventually write a novel based on The Hateful Eight. However, things got interesting in April, when Tarantino held a live reading of the film in Los Angeles with the cast. Although Tarantino didn't confirm that he would be making The Hateful Eight, he seemed more interesting in doing the project again. According to Cinema Blend, he eventually said that he planned on making the film in late 2014, but a new report indicates otherwise.

Kurt Russell was recently interviewed by a local Fox station and in that interview he gave this quote to the anchors:

"There's a Tarantino project called The Hateful Eight that looks like it might go somewhere around the beginning of the year."

So there you have it folks, Tarantino's The Hateful Eight is moving forward. While that's not really an official confirmation, Russell is a part of the cast and it wasn't some random report from an unreliable source. He said it in an interview. The Hateful Eight is a very interesting project and I'm quite certain that Tarantino will make something special out of it. For a while now, speculation has been that Tarantino would have the picture ready in time for December 2015 and I highly doubt that's possible with the later start date. A summer 2016 date seems more plausible to me.
