After the first annual movie guru awards were botched last year, I decided to bring them back this year. Note that I have not seen Les Miserables, Silver Linings Playbook, or Zero Dark Thirty so there are NO nominations for those films. If I do see those films before February 23, I will be sure to add those to the list and remove less worthy contenders. There are some notable changes from last year's set of nominees. The best newcomer awards has been abolished, original and adapted screenplay have been condensed into one category, and best cinematography has been added. Here are this year's nominations:
UPDATE: After watching Silver Linings Playbook (review coming later), I have provided some updates to these nominees.
