Will Smith's version of the Genie is finally unveiled in new 'Aladdin' trailer

It's a big year for Walt Disney Pictures, as Bob Iger continues to push for his total domination of the American film industry. In addition to guaranteed billion dollar hits like Avengers: Endgame, Star Wars: Episode IX, and Toy Story 4, 2019 will also see Disney officially acquire the assets of 20th Century Fox, which will rapidly increase the market share of what is already the biggest studio in Hollywood. And to make matters even more daunting, Disney is set to release three remakes of their beloved animated classics- Jon Favreau's The Lion King, Tim Burton's Dumbo, and Guy Ritchie's Aladdin. Everyone kind of knows what to expect from the former two- shot-for-shot remake of the Circle of Life, a very Burton-esque outsider fable- but nobody really knows what we'll be getting from Ritchie's re-imagination of Aladdin. While the first teaser went over fine, fans were desperate to know what Will Smith's re-imagining of the Genie (originally voiced by the iconic Robin Williams) would look like.

After last night, fans might be regretting their first wish. During the Grammys, Disney released a more comprehensive look at Aladdin. And I have to say- this might be one of the worst trailer launches in modern marketing history, so bad that it doesn't even warrant a full response. Of course, if you're filled with morbid curiosity, check it out below!

No.
