New trailer for 'Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2' unites the Disney Princesses

Okay, so here's the bad news: Disney just suffered its most surprising box office bomb in forever. While films like A Wrinkle in Time, John Carter, and The Lone Ranger were all expected to disappoint or flop, nobody anticipated the astonishing crash-and-burn of Ron Howard's Solo: A Star Wars Story. With weak domestic box office, a genuinely terrible overseas performance, and a ridiculous $250 million+ budget, Disney will not be making their money back on this controversial origin story. But the good news? They have an entire slate of movies to make up for it. One of the many likely hits is Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, the long-awaited sequel (with an unnecessarily long title) to the 2012 Disney smash hit. Earlier today, the studio released the second teaser trailer for the film- watch it below!

The original Wreck-It Ralph is a blast, and this sequel looks no different. It's like Disney watched The Emoji Movie and went "Hey, we can make this and it won't suck." I love that directors Rich Moore and Phil Johnston are keeping their cards pretty close to the vest, giving us few actual plot details beyond the basic concept. Ralph (John C. Reilly) and Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) are going to the internet, and there's a whole world out there for them to explore. This concept gives Disney the chance to unite their different franchises and brands, and it's exciting to see characters from Marvel, Star Wars, and Winnie the Pooh all interacting with each other in this big crossover event.

Of course, the show-stopper of the trailer is Vanellope's meeting with the Disney Princess, which culminates in a pitch-perfect punchline. Personally, I loved the little interaction with the search engine who tries to predict what Ralph is saying, prompting some hysterical frustration from our titular character. From this trailer and the previous one, it seems that Wreck-It Ralph 2 will satirize our modern online culture in ways that are fresh and funny, which really is no small feat. I'm looking forward to discovering the actual plot (Alan Tudyk is returning to potentially cause trouble as a new iteration of King Candy), but for now, I'm really enjoying these teasers. Ralph Breaks the Internet looks eye-popping, hilarious, and just plain delightful.

Wreck-It Ralph 2 arrives in theaters on November 21.
