Watch: Spectacular, thrilling first trailer for 'Mission: Impossible- Fallout'

So tonight has been a little busy, guys.

First, there was an extended new look at J.A. Bayona's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Then came the very first footage for Solo: A Star Wars Story. Oh, not to mention the fact that TV spots dropped for John Krasinski's buzzy A Quiet Place and Dwayne Johnson's Skyscraper. And just moments ago, Netflix made my dreams come true by announcing that The Cloverfield Paradox will be available on Netflix as soon as the Super Bowl is complete (more on that in a later post). But in the midst of this epic madness, Paramount has finally released the full trailer for Christopher McQuarrie's Mission: Impossible- Fallout. Since 2011 (arguably since 2006, but I haven't seen J.J. Abrams' Mission: Impossible 3 in forever), the Mission: Impossible series has been on a roll, thanks to the one-two punch of Brad Bird's Ghost Protocol and McQuarrie's Rogue Nation. Those are both terrific action movies, and there's no reason to expect anything less than greatness from Fallout. Check out the first trailer below!

In all likelihood, this will be Tom Cruise's last Mission: Impossible movie. Look, I'm not saying that he isn't as badass as ever, but the guy is turning 56 this year, and he had a pretty nasty injury during the making of Fallout. But if this is Cruise's last ride as Ethan Hunt, it looks like he's going out with a bang. This is one of the best trailers I've seen in a long time, a masterclass in selling a tone without giving too much away. The Playlist's Gregory Ellwood compared the footage to Skyfall, and that's a comparison that feels completely apt. Fallout seems like the culmination of the Mission franchise as we know it, as McQuarrie has assembled pretty much every major player from the series for this sixth installment. And of course, the action scenes look out of this world. If the James Bond franchise is about a formula of action beats and beautiful women, then the Mission: Impossible movies are all about the stunts, so crazy that they've almost killed Tom Cruise. Fallout looks slick and crazy, a propulsive saga of brilliantly choreographed mayhem. Oh, and Henry Cavill's mustache! If the cost of another great Mission: Impossible movie was Justice League, I'm all for it. And honestly, I hope he takes over the series.

This movie looks like the goods. I cannot wait, so in the meantime, I'm just gonna watch this trailer a billion times.

Mission: Impossible- Fallout will hit theaters on July 27.
