Second trailer for J.A. Bayona's 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' arrives during Super Bowl

This extended look at Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom actually premiered on the air before the Solo teaser, but sorry guys, new Star Wars takes precedence over everything else. However, I can't deny that I'm also excited for J.A. Bayona's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which follows the epic 2015 film. While many critics and fans of the Jurassic franchise were disappointed by Colin Trevorrow's reboot, I personally love that goofy roller-coaster of a film, and I can't wait to see more. The first trailer wasn't great, but I still maintained hope that Fallen Kingdom could deliver. After a few months, we finally have another look at the long-awaited sequel. Watch the Super Bowl trailer below!

I don't think we've talked enough about the fact that J.A. Bayona is behind the camera for Fallen Kingdom. As someone who was utterly traumatized by both The Impossible and A Monster Calls (in vastly different ways), I know that Bayona is a great filmmaker. The first trailer for Fallen Kingdom was bland and oddly paced, devoid of any real humor or charm. It didn't seem to be channeling Trevorrow's popcorn sensibilities, but it also didn't have its own distinct vibe. This new trailer is a completely different story. From the breathlessly intense dinosaur scenes to the creepy images of corporate talking heads creating new monsters, everything about Fallen Kingdom feels apocalyptic and nightmarish. I don't know how this film intends to top the scale of its predecessor, but it looks like a frightening must-see in its own right.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will arrive on June 22.
