Critics Choice Awards Live Blog!

I was not planning on live blogging the Critics Choice Awards, but they have been so egregiously awful so far, that I feel like I have to do it. So let's recap what's happened so far:

-It opened with an awkward male stripper routine that introduced Michael Strahan.

-The first award went to Birdman for Best Ensemble.

-Strahan has been awful as a host so far. So awkward and painful to watch.

-Next award is Best Young Actor/Actress. I would bet on Tony Revolori for The Grand Budapest Hotel.

-Ellar Coltrane wins for Boyhood. He's really good in the movie. Not truly surprised by this one at all.

-Hopefully we don't have to see Michael Strahan do any more dumb jokes again. He's been terrible so far.

-Josh Gad and Leslie Mann are here to present an award. Time to get in some blatant marketing for The Wedding Ringer.

-Best Actor in an Action Movie. Probably going to be Pratt or Cooper.

-Bradley Cooper for American Sniper. Cooper not here.

-Next up is Best Actress in an Action Movie. I would go with Blunt here.

-Yeah! Emily Blunt! Nice win there for Edge of Tomorrow. Not the best movie of 2014, but highly underrated and it is so much fun.

-Cute moment between Krasinski and Blunt.

-Make Michael Strahan go away. Please. For the love of God.

-Adam Scott is here to present the award for Best Action movie.

-Any one of the five nominees could win here (except maybe Fury).

-Guardians of the Galaxy wins Best Action Movie. Good win there. It's a very fun movie.

-James Gunn and Chris Pratt are probably two of my favorite people.

-Strahan reveals that Antonio Sanchez won Best Score for Birdman. John Krasinski is now here to present the next award.

-Best Animated Feature is up next. It would be some sweet, sweet revenge if The LEGO Movie won.

-Come on, LEGO Movie. Please. Funniest movie of the year by far.

-Thank you, Critics. I love you all. Forget the Academy.

-And more Strahan,.....ugh. I'm done with this.

-Chris Pratt is here to give the first ever MVP award to Jessica Chastain.

-Jessica Chastain was in so many movies. Wow. She did have a truly stellar year.

-Diane Kruger is here to present the award for Best Supporting Actor.

-J.K. Simmons wins for Whiplash. Big shocker there.

-Okay, I laughed at that one. Strahan is currently dressed up like Tony Revolori from The Grand Budapest Hotel.

-Jared Leto is here to present the award for Best Supporting Actress. Patricia Arquette will win.

-Tilda Swinton should win. No question in my mind.

-Patricia Arquette wins Best Supporting Actress. Another big shocker. NOT.

-Her speech ran long. Save something for the Oscars. You're going to win.

-Michelle Monaghan and Garrett Hedlund are here to present the award for Best Song.

-Please be Everything is Awesome. More revenge for The LEGO Movie.

-"Glory" from Selma wins Best Original Song. Not surprising in the least, but I was hoping for The LEGO Movie.

-Another good speech from Common.

-Sweet, Chris Hemsworth is presenting Ron Howard with the Genius award. Very happy to see that.

-Howard has had a great career. He is very deserving of a Lifetime Achievement award.

-Standing ovation for Howard. Love this dude. Can't wait for In the Heart of the Sea.

-Good speech from Howard.

-Visual Effects went to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

-Best Hair and Makeup- Guardians of the Galaxy

-Best Production and Costume Design- The Grand Budapest Hotel

-Best Cinematography- Birdman

-Best Editing- Birdman

-Wow, they announced so many awards there. I couldn't keep up.

-Is it too late to change the host of this show? Can we put Ron Howard back up there?

-Tyler Perry is here to present the award for Best Actor in a Comedy.

-Keaton could win, but Fiennes has a shot as well.

-Michael Keaton wins Best Actor in a Comedy for Birdman. Could win Best Actor again later tonight.

-Keaton's speech was actually pretty funny. Nice job.

-Best Actress in a Comedy is up next. Please give it to Rose Byrne.

-Jenny Slate wins Best Actress in a Comedy for Obvious Child. Really was hoping for Byrne, but okay.

-Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette are here to present the award for Best Comedy. Birdman is gonna take this one.

-The Grand Budapest Hotel wins Best Comedy. That is awesome! I really like Birdman, but The Grand Budapest Hotel is a masterpiece.

-Best Director and Lifetime Achievement Award are up next.

-Poor Rene Russo. She has laryngitis and she's trying to present Costner's lifetime achievement award.

-Now they have the guy from Storage Wars up here. Great. Nothing like big ads for your own TV shows.

-Costner has been in some really fantastic movies. The Untouchables, Dances with Wolves, Field of Dreams- all fantastic movies.

-Good speech by Costner. Little long though.

-Judd Apatow is here to present the award for Best Director. Linklater will take the award here.

-It'd be cool if Wes Anderson won.

-But, no surprise there. Linklater takes it again.

-The most interesting category left is Best Actor. We pretty much know the rest.

-Patrick Stewart is here to present the award for Best Actress. Julianne Moore has this one in the bag.

-Julianne Moore with another win for Still Alice. I'm gonna get real tired of seeing here win every single time.

-Best Actor is up next. Really hoping that this thing wraps up soon.

-There were so many awards that the Critics Choice did not announce tonight. Will be interesting to see what they are.

-Now, for the big one- Best Actor.

-If Keaton wins here, it's a huge step forward for his campaign.

-Keaton's a double-winner tonight. Solidifies himself as the front-runner for Best Actor.

-Another funny speech from Keaton. Humble, cool and collected.

-Best Picture up next. Should be Boyhood, but an upset could shake up the race.

-Ben Kingsley is here to give Boyhood its award.

-Boyhood wins Best Picture at the Critics Choice Awards. One step closer to the Oscar.

-And that wraps up the live blog! Pretty standard night. Not anything overly exceptional or surprising. Grand Budapest Hotel is definitely #2 behind Boyhood. Keaton should win Best Actor. More will be revealed at the SAG Awards on Saturday.
