Oscar Winner review: The King's Speech (2010)

The King's Speech is a magical, almost perfect film. The King's Speech has three great performances, a stellar score and all around great filmmaking. The King's Speech is about King George VI (Colin Firth) who must over come a speech impediment to rule the country and give a speech with a country right on the verge of World War II. He is helped by Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush) who helps him overcome the fear of learning how to speak. The film is extremely sentimental but it's told in such a magical, but hard and unflinching at the same time that it is impossible not to love it. There is a decent amount of tension throughout the middle and overall it's just a fantastic movie.

THE FINAL GRADE: A+
