On July 31st,Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 reached $1 billion dollars at the worldwide box office. Potter reached that total on it's 19th day in theater, breaking the record previously set by Avatar. It was the 9th film to reach $1 billion worldwide and is now the 6th highest grossing film ever. Then two days later Transformers: Dark of the Moon became the 10 film to reach $1 billion dollars worldwide. It took 37 days for the movie to reach the total. There have been three billion dollar movies this year; Dark of the Moon, Deathly Hallows Part 2, and Pirates of the Caribbean:On Stranger Tides.
